"Doug made 3 consecutive passes of 8.86, 8.81 and 9.05 for an average of 8.91, besting the competition by more than a full half second. 45 Minutes following the event, Doug bolted up his slicks and tweaked the tune to click of an ET of 8.63 et, setting a new record in the world of late model supercharged Corvettes" >>>CLICK FOR FULL ARTICLE<<<

ECS Regrets the loss of our Shop Manager, Johnny Romano, who passed on September 7, 2009 due to sudden illness complications.
Johnny was well known by our customers and friends for his hard work ethic, helpful and caring attitude and pride in the great work he has done at ECS. Johnny will be very deerly missed at ECS and by everyone who knew him.
I really could not be happier with how the car turned out, it's exactly what I wanted from my build. I feel very confident when I go to the line now, instead of crossing my fingers hoping the drive train wont go boom each time. I could have hot lapped the car if I wanted to, so maybe I'll enter into a Pinks all out or something. I have limited my long distance high speed driving with the glide, but I drove to and from E-town on Saturday which is 45 minutes away, up to north Jersey on Sunday for a car show which is even farther, and clicked off some 8's on Wednesday, I'm a happy guy.
The car is barely even being pushed right now, I have so much left on the table it's just ridiculous! I was at 58% throttle, (yes, 58%!!) and 12 degrees of timing. I didn't lean on the trans brake much at all, and haven't even used the two step yet. I am very confident that my car will be able to be competitive in 8.50 index classes in any weather, and that was my goal, now whether I am or not is another story, but time will tell.
Unfortunately I didn't expect the tires to grow on the top end as much as they did, and the screws in the rear of the wheel well ate into the tire pretty badly, which is why the car was shaking in the video, so I had to call it a day earlier then I wanted to. All in all that's a pretty short list of problems for a shake down day though, so I really cant complain about it, but digging up a new tire is annoying!
Pretty cool thing about the rental yesterday was that a bunch of the Pro stock guys were there practicing for the summer nationals this weekend at E-town. So after my first pass these guys started talking to some of the guys that were there with us, and when I went up to the line to run again, a bunch of them stopped what they were doing to watch. Here is a couple of 6 second pro mod crews stopping what they are doing to watch my half a race car make a pass. Afterwards the Kendal race crew came up to me and started asking questions, after I told him I was at 58% throttle and my timing, he said "bull *&^!" so I was in the middle of pulling the lap top out of the car as we were talking and I showed him the log. He congratulated me and walked away shaking his head.
Couple of our vendors that I owe thanks to;
Pfadt racing, many people consider them more for road racing then drag racing, but believe me most drag racers over look their suspension. Phadt products are where it's at for an IRS Corvette!
And American Racing Headers, thanks guys for building me the 2" headers for me, I REALLY need to get up there and let you guys finish off the complete exhaust.
Both great companies, and great products

ECS takes the C6 NA record with a 10.66 @ 131.68 MPH
Doug is down at a track rental in Maryland today testing Devil's car. The previous record was a 10.76@128. This is a stock bottom end LS3 with our cam only package but we just added a set of TEA prepped LS3 heads.

Jay made it to the final in the 10.0 index and lost to David Shen by .002! One of the best races I have ever seen.
Rob made it all the way to finals and lost by the slimest of margins also in brackets.
Shawn and my brother made it to the semi-finals in the 11.50 before bowing out.
I took out Mark in the first round on the 10.0 only to face David Shen the Sheninator. I knew David was going to be tough to beat and went deep - too deep in staging and went red. How tough was the 10.0 class? I qualified 6th with a 10.09!
Some bests for me and the car:
My qualifying run at the 10.0:
60' 1.55433
1/8 6.5031 @ 109.33
1/4 10.0926 @ 138.08
The track was great for the 1/8 then it transitioned to an older surface and it was a manhood test for sure.
Then we asked the track to let Doug take a run to see if we could put the car into the 9's. Well no 9 but here is the result:
On a better surface we are thinking the car has a 9.8 in its current setup (restrictor plate in). The car is just an animal. This is a stock bottom car with upgraded valve springs! Doug was able to make some changes that enabled the car to start 60' in the 1.5xs. He also swapped the tune back and forth between runs so my brother could run 11.50 and then I would hop in the car and run 10.0. He attended to everyone and even managed to do a tune for a guy who saw the cars and asked for a tune. Great job Doug - you were awesome today and the showing of the ECS cars reflected your hard work and dedication. Great times with some great folks. We wanted to take Charles' car back to ECS for some more modifications so we put street tires on my car and Doug drove it home to NJ from Va. while I trailered Charles' car. How is that for a stock motor street driven car with full AC - the works.
Construction is beginning this week on our additional shop bay, office space and waiting room with bathroom and wireless internet!

ECS has purchased a new indoor dyno. By late February we expect to be using the Dynapack Dyno for all of our testing and tuning. This Dyno bolts to the hubs eliminating any possibility of wheel slip on even the highest horsepower cars.
The Dynapack hydraulic setup allows us to hold a car at any RPM and load setting for a specified time period. This coupled with our new EFILive tuning software means that ECS will be providing our customers with one of the most accurate and efficient performance tunes that money can buy.
1/8/2008
The ECS Team is researching for the purchase of a new indoor Dyno that will better integrate with their new Dynotuning software. Doug will be focusing much of his time on fine tuning your LSX engines.
